Illuminati: The Ultimate Scapegoat

Meaning “the Enlightened Ones” in Latin, this term refers in modern conspiracy theories to a supra-national elite group that completely controls world politics, economics, and media from the shadows .

Rockefellers, Rothschilds, the Vatican, the British Royal Family…

A “shadow government” positioned at the top of all power structures, allegedly manipulating human history like a game of chess.

All conspiracy theories ultimately lead here.

1. Historical Fact: The Bavarian Order of the Illuminati

The organization that became the basis for the conspiracy theory actually existed in history.

It is the “Bavarian Illuminati,” founded on May 1, 1776, by Adam Weishaupt , a professor at the University of Ingolstadt in Germany.

The Purpose of Establishment: The Victory of Reason

In Bavaria at the time, the authority of the Catholic Church was absolute.

Weishaupt aimed to liberate people from religious superstition, prejudice, and abuses of state power, striving to perfect humanity through the light of “Reason.” In other words, they were originally a radical intellectual group (liberals) seeking “freedom and equality.”

Oppression and Rumors of Going Underground

They infiltrated an existing fraternal organization, “Freemasonry,” and expanded their power, but their radical anti-establishment ideology was seen as dangerous.

In 1785, their activities were banned by the Bavarian government, and the organization was dissolved and exiled.

Although their activities lasted less than a decade, a rumor spread throughout Europe that “they went underground and pulled the strings behind the French Revolution.” This is the origin of the “Shadow Ruler” legend.

2. The Eye of Providence (The All-Seeing Eye)

Their purported symbols: the “All-Seeing Eye (Eye of Providence)” and the pyramid.

This design, also depicted on the reverse side of the United States one-dollar bill, is decoded by conspiracy theorists as follows:

  1. MDCCLXXVI (1776) : Roman numerals carved into the base of the pyramid. It is the year of American independence, but simultaneously the year the Illuminati was founded .

  2. Novus Ordo Seclorum : Latin for “New Order of the Ages.” This is interpreted as a declaration for the establishment of a unified world government through the “New World Order.” 3. Annuit Coeptis : “He (God) has favored our undertakings.” The claim that their rule is blessed by God (or Lucifer).

In reality, these are traditional symbols adopted by the Founding Fathers of America to celebrate the “birth of a new nation,” but in the context of conspiracy theories, they function as the “Seal of Domination.”

3. New World Order (NWO)

The core of modern Illuminati conspiracy theories is the “New World Order” plan.

Their ultimate goal is said to be abolishing national borders, religions, and private property to establish a “One World Government” where a small elite manages and controls all of humanity.

Modern Reinterpretation

With the spread of the internet, the Illuminati began to be depicted not only as “Satanists,” but also as “Overseers with Advanced Technology.”* Depopulation plans (pandemics and vaccines).

Domestication of humanity via microchips. Integration of consciousness via the Metaverse.

These are projections of anxiety toward rapidly advancing globalism and technology.

The reason the Illuminati legend has not vanished for over 200 years is because the world is far too complex and unreasonable .

War, economic depression, widening inequality.

Rather than believing that these occur due to countless factors and coincidences, the world becomes simpler and easier to understand if one believes that “a few evil geniuses are moving things according to a script.” The illusion that “the world will be better if we defeat them” acts as a kind of salvation (a painkiller) for powerless individuals.

The Illuminati might be a substitute for the “Evil Omnipotent God” that people sought in an era without a god.
